Derek D'Antuono
8th Grade General Science Class and 9th Grade Physic First Class
Observations:
The teaching styles of the two teachers I observe are so dramatically different its amazing. In the middle school class Mrs. Medieros
is up beat, energetic, and addresses the class quite often. In the high school class Mr. Swan is very personal and business like. Mr. Swan works well with the students one on one. He often assigns something to be done by the end of the period then moves around the room to help each student individually as they need it. There is very little class lecture or full class discussion. In Mrs. Medieros's class
she talks to the class as a whole and uses the Socratic method quite often. Asking a question to try and get a point across. Both styles seem effective. The students seem to enjoy themselves more in Mrs. Medieros's class.

Reflection:
I clearly see myself using the same type of teaching style as Mrs. Medieros addressing the class as a whole and being much more up beat and energetic. I like to work individually with the students but I feel like more can be accomplished and taught when you address the whole class. Also questions that are asked by students are extremely important. When you just talk to one student at a time the rest of the class doesn't hear the question therefore lose out on hearing an explanation to a question they may have also.
